Stop Frame Animation
For my stop motion animation, I wanted to create a whimsical, dream-like stop frame animation. To begin I designed all the images in illustrator and cut them out to individual shapes. I wanted to give the inanimate cut-out characters life and movement. I illustrated the characters and stars and shot each frame. My friend recorded Preludein C Major by Bach on a piano which gave the animation a whimsical feel.
This project has taught me a lot from working with small details; to patience shooting; to editing my images in Adobe Bridge; to understanding a basic knowledge of Adobe Premier settings.
Above are photos from the process. The characters were created in Adobe Illustrator. I spent a few hours capturing hundreds of frames. Then I used Adobe Bridge to edit the images before placing them in Adobe Premier to finish the stop frame animation.
